Primary Purpose of the position:
The North Carolina Aquariums at Roanoke Island is seeking a dynamic, efficient, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as IT Field Support Technician. The primary purpose of this position is to respond to and provide professional level technical support for software system maintenance, PCI compliance issues, hardware installations, troubleshooting, enhancements, planning, and user-requested changes for the North Carolina Aquariums.

The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island is located in Manteo, NC, nine miles from the Atlantic coastline in Nags Head. The 61,000 square-foot facility is sited on 16 acres overlooking the Croatan Sound and houses over 2200 animals. More than 280,000 guests visit the aquarium each year to see a large array of sharks, learn about sea turtle conservation, participate in a variety of programs, enjoy the beauty of the area, and learn why North Carolina’s waterways are so special.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet ALL the following requirements listed below:
Qualified candidates must have:
Management Preferences:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution plus one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role;
OR
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role;
OR
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in the field of technology related to the position’s role;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
