Job Summary: The purpose of the Perioperative Booking Secretary is to ensure that surgical and other procedures are scheduled as requested. To assure that all of the team members responsible for the completion of the procedures have the pertinent information to allow then to provide quality service to the patient and the physician. Additionally the Perioperative Booking Secretary participates in the charging/billing process of patient services and supplies.

Minimum Requirements:

• 2 years experience working in hospital access, physician office or billing and collections
• High School diploma or equivalent with technical/vocational college
• Advanced computer skills, utilizing eight different software computer systems to perform daily functions in addition to MS Office, Excel, Word and Outlook
• Interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, physicians, insurance companies and other staff members on a daily basis

Preferred/ Desired:

• 5 years experience working in hospital access, physician office or billing and collections
• Associates degree preferred
• Advanced computer skills, utilizing eight different software computer systems to perform daily functions in addition to MS Office, Excel, Word and Outlook
• Interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, physicians, insurance companies and other staff members on a daily basis
