Modine Manufacturing Company Looking for Engineering Section Manager at Lexington, VA  Full Time

You will report to our Engineering Manager for our Data Center vertical. You will work within the Engineering Department to oversee Engineers and CAD Designers responsible for the design, development, and documents related to Chiller products. You will oversee the development and transfer of technology including but not limited to products that span across Climate Solution Regions (Americas, EMEA, and Asia).

Requirements:

The minimum requirement is a Bachelors of Science in a related engineering field with 7+ years engineering experience and 2+ years of supervisory experience. The candidate should have a strong fundamental background and/or experience in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and psychometrics. Four years’ experience specifically with Chiller, HVAC, or unitary design is a plus.

You should have a working knowledge of a 3D CAD System, FEA & CFD software, and Microsoft Office applications. You must have strong analysis and problem solving skills. You shall also have strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be an Engineering Leader and technical expert for the chiller group within the North American Data Center Organization.
• Develop products to meet customer specific requirements.
• Prepare technical data and drawings for both customers and production.
• Create/monitor KPIs and reporting systems that are easy to use and reduce waste.
• Responsible for performance management of team through development plans and target setting.
• Develop and meet timelines for product designs and/or product transfers between production facilities.
• Ensure products meet appropriate standards, UL, ASME, AHRI, ASHRAE
• Participate in influential Data Center Industry organizations, e.g. AHRI, ASHRAE
• Work with other Modine regions, CS manufacturing locations, and/or customers to assure a smooth transition from one region to another with global product development.
• Travel to other regions (Leeds, UK) and customer sites if needed (20%).

Required Qualifications:

• Requires an extensive knowledge of Chiller product, technologies and industry best practices.
• Technical expertise on equipment using the vapor-compression cycle.
• Experience with A2L refrigerants is a plus.
