Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Fresh Coast Program is MMSD’s ongoing GI planning and implementation effort. Through this program, two teams made up of four to five interns will assist in community outreach and installation of small-scale GI on public & private property in the City of Milwaukee and Franklin. They will aid in closing out projects, managing records, restocking supply inventory, updating databases with information gathered through outreach activities, and supporting residents. Lastly, the interns will be paired with MMSD professionals to work on independent research projects and assist with GI workshops, outreach projects, and related office duties.
Qualifications:
One to two years of college; participation in a technical program related to water/environmental studies, civil engineering, landscape management, planning, or a related field; or considerable work experience in landscaping, construction, forestry, conservation, or green infrastructure installation and maintenance. Must be able to effectively communicate with a diverse audience. A valid driver’s license and a good driving record at the time of application, during the selection process, and throughout the internship are highly preferred.
Supplemental Information:
This 12-week summer internship is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. Occasional evening and weekend work required.
