Construction Coordinator

Department: Department of Transportation – Transportation Services Division

Full-time, Hourly

Hourly Range: $24.05 – $37.71/hr

Closing Date: 3/13/2024 or upon receipt of 50 applicant submissions

Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position will coordinate and provide construction management support for Milwaukee County Department of Transportation, Transportation Services Division’s construction projects and perform such other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide construction management support for Transportation Services Division construction projects for traffic engineering, highway engineering, and bridge engineering sections.
• Assist with developing plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS & E) for the construction, alteration, as well as maintenance of transportation facilities.
• Review, modify, and prepare required reports, exhibits, and documents for various transportation projects.
• Assist in updating and maintaining Transportation Services Pavement Management System for the CTH system.
• Provide constructability and quality control reviews for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic engineering, highway engineering, and bridge engineering sections.
• Provide support and assistance in issuing, inspecting, and maintaining various permits for the CTH system.
• Provide support and assistance coordinating utility relocations for traffic engineering, highway engineering, and bridge engineering sections.
• Use of Equipment, Tools and Machinery – Operate fleet vehicles and specialized transportation related equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences

• Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required
• Valid WI Driver’s License required and must be maintained throughout incumbency
• Associate’s degree or higher in a closely related field required.
• At least two (2) years or more work experience in the Highway Construction Inspection or similar industry required.
• Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets required.
• Basic knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, ASHTOWare, and Appia Systems required.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 75lbs.
