Do you want to impact educators and students across the country? McGraw Hill has an immediate opening for an experienced Marketo user for our Marketing Operations Specialist position. Reporting to the Director, Marketing Systems, this role will be responsible for supporting the execution of integrated marketing campaigns through our marketing automation platform (Adobe Marketo Engage) and CRM (Salesforce). As a power user of Marketo, the Marketing Operations Specialist will act as a key resource for Sales & Marketing and subject matter expert for marketing automation and email marketing best practices.

You will be providing guidance on email and lead nurture best practices and the ideal usage of marketing tools and technologies to achieve optimal campaign performance and meet business objectives. The ideal candidate is technical, organized, results driven, has strong attention to detail and an enthusiasm for digital marketing.

This position can be based in Columbus, OH or 100% remote within the Continental United States.

A typical day can include:

• Support the technical execution of integrated marketing strategies through our marketing automation platform (Adobe Marketo Engage). This includes program development for email and lead nurture campaigns, landing pages, and social campaigns – ensuring marketing activities are tracked and measurable.
• Identify opportunities and implement solutions to utilize marketing automation capabilities to help marketers deliver a positive prospect and customer experience
• Develop email and landing page assets to support acquisition and engagement marketing campaigns, to successfully reach new and existing contacts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business as a strategic partner and advisor for innovative and pragmatic uses of marketing automation and email marketing channel best practices.
• Perform regular audits of all operations and processes with recommendations of improvements
• Create and optimize marketing processes – from campaign launch to data cleanliness.
• Master available data sources/data structure and develop data segmentation strategies to effectively communicate with the target audience.
• Work with cross-functional teams informing system changes and technical operations process development
• Monitor day-to-day functions of marketing automation platform to ensure campaigns are running as intended
• Educate and empower other internal stakeholders to use marketing tools available, while considering best practices for the systems involved.

What can you bring to the role?

• 3+ years of experience in marketing automation administration, developing and implementing marketing campaigns required (Adobe Marketo Engage strongly preferred).
• 2+ years of experience with email marketing, lead nurturing, and digital marketing strategies.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Experience working with CRM systems, such as Salesforce.com.
• Understanding of the latest trends, challenges, and capabilities in the marketing automation and email marketing space.
• Strong communication and prioritization skills
• Understanding of marketing operations, specifically building requirements for list segmentation, workflows, and triggered emails.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to use creative approaches to support marketing challenges.
• Ability to identify areas for optimization and get buy-in from internal stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of email marketing fundamentals (CAN-SPAM compliance, deliverability, A/B split testing, etc.) and KPIs.
• Detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience with troubleshooting system, process, and data issues.

The average base salary range for this position is around $70,000 – $80,000 annually, however, base salary pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, such as a company provided vehicle, depending on the position offered.
