Position description
The Supervisor works collaboratively on multi-disciplinary work groups and projects. Initiates and facilitates activities to establish and enhance financial and operational analyses, billing, accounting, and other finance activities and processes. Participates in cross functional teams and contributes to overall management and performance of daily operations, direct customer relations, information technology input, quality, and security. This position will make significant contributions to supply chain integration, which includes activities to establish and enhance financial performance and operational processes associated Supply Chain Management (SCM). This position requires direct involvement with specific departments in committing significant institutional dollars in the procurement of equipment, services, supplies and inventory. The commitment of Mayo Clinic resources is substantial and consequential. Accountable for achieving work unit productivity standards and cost control goals. Understands high level analytical and technical information to plan and execute supply chain management best practices utilizing LEAN Six Sigma principles. Responsible for effective human resource management. Supports an efficient, cost-effective program within assigned work unit, including but not limited to inventory control, shipping, storage, receiving, distribution, transportation, warehousing, and data/information management. Supports standardization initiatives as identified by supply chain leadership to reduce costs, to achieve operational efficiency, and to ensure clinical availability of supplies. Manages the process of movement of supplies, equipment, services and inventory within their team while ensuring compliance with Mayo policies including spend authorization thresholds. The Develops, implements and maintains programs and tools for financial reporting; the interpretation and implementation of administrative, accounting, finance, policies and regulations; and identifies opportunities and recommends options for increasing financial performance, while helping to preserve Mayo Clinics Standard of Ethics and minimize the financial and legal risks for Mayo. Serves as an institutional resource regarding Logistics policies, account coding, processing issues, and systems issues. Represents Mayo Clinic and Supply Chain Management interests at industry conferences. Coordinates and oversees any out source company activities and relationships. Supervisor also conducts research and analysis, benchmarking, and audits to ensure reasonableness and accuracy of information along with identifying and implementing best practices and improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in supply chain, health care, finance, accounting, business, communication or systems, which includes two years’ previous lead, project lead or supervisor experience; or Certifications may be considered in lieu of experience. Master’s degree with 4 years’ relevant experience in supply chain, health care, finance, accounting, business, or systems, which includes two years’ previous lead, project lead or supervisor experience preferred.
Additional qualifications
Possesses PC skills, both keyboarding and applications. Knowledge of and experience with Finance systems and applications preferred.Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, continuous improvement, customer service, analytical experience, and strong personal computer, communication, project management, and team building skills.
Demonstrated experience with a variety of computer systems (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lawson AP/MM modules, Stellent, MAIS, etc.) is preferred.
License or certification
Relevant professional certification preferred (CMRP, LEAN Six Sigma, APICS)
