We are looking for a Transportation Coordinator to join our North America Warehouse and Distribution team.
This position will be based in Chesapeake, Virginia.
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Transportation Department to ensure daily drayage moves are completed working in conjunction with Port Terminals, Damco Distribution (DDSI) Customer Service Teams, Direct Dray Customers and Dispatch.

Performance Team and Damco Distribution, now part of the Maersk global organization under a combined Warehousing & Distribution division, offer third party logistics services to over 500 customers. Encompassing almost 15 million square feet of warehousing capacity throughout the country and a large transportation segment capturing a variety of services, we have key supply chain hubs in the Los Angeles and New Jersey/New York areas, and other facilities along the Western & Eastern coasts along with multiple locations in the Midwest. Delivering significant sales and profitability growth, we will drive the Inland Logistics and Services business for the combined US business units for Maersk.
Key responsibilities
* Store Door work orders from Steamship Lines.
o Access daily Steamship Lines website for new work orders. Update website according to SOP.
o Audit Webec/Draywatch Management daily for pending records requiring resolution.
o Forward electronic work orders received via email to Finance.
o Update Store Door status per container in Webec/Equipment Control upon receipt of work order.
* Allocation request from Damco Customer Service Team.
o Store Door accounts; ensure work order is received prior to allocating.
o Check port website confirming port availability.
o Schedule container pick-up appointments with port terminals when necessary.
o Coordinate reefer/genset needs with Steamship Lines and Terminal.
o Update allocation in Webec according to customer pier pass requirements.
* Coordinate daily drayage moves with Hudd Dispatch or 3rd Party Truckers.
* Process 3rd Party Trucker invoices for payment and update Equipment Interchange Receipt (EIR) dates in Webec.
* Customer Service for Direct Dray and Damco Central Dray customers:
o Receive Deliver Orders from Broker.
o Send daily dispatch reports by required cut off times.
o Update manual tracking log to provide daily reports to customer.
o Coordinate container delivery with Dispatch and Customer Warehouse.
o Complete weekly billing according to SOP.
o Daily monitor of yard reports to capture Per Diem last free day.
* Review daily holds placed by DDSI facilities. Follow up with SSL and release holds for allocation.
* Weekly billing:
o Pier Pass, Clean Truck, Bobtails, and Chassis Splits.
o LTL and Airfreight
o Import Direct Drays
o Shuttle Drayage
o Storage
* Assist Driver Safety department with weekly driver payroll processing.
* Assist Dispatch when time permits.
* Performs job related duties as specified by management.
We are looking for
Qualifications:
* 1+ years relevant experience with Port Terminal operations, preferred but not required
*Current shift is Monday-Thursday 4pm-1am & Saturdays 5am-2pm and will have to work Monday – Friday regular hours for first month to train
*Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
*High School Diploma/GED; College degree preferred
