HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for minimizing exposure to delinquency and loss, accurate customer account set-up, and department administrative tasks related to customer payment.

• Collection of past due balances expeditiously through customer communications without negatively impacting the relationship between Lube-Tech and the customer
• Determine payment plan, amount, timeline, and potential write off of finances
• Review and release of credit hold orders in a timely manner after reviewing account status, payment history, collection notes, credit line, etc.
• Collect receivables needed to bring customer into risk tolerance limits
• Field customer inquiries regarding credit, payment, billing, account status, and documentation requests
• Facilitate communications between the customer, credit department, sales, and customer service to ensure a high level of customer contact, service, and timely resolution to issues
• Reconcile account balances to ensure proper cash application, identify billing discrepancies, reconcile short & over payments, unapplied credits, and other account balance “clean-up”
• Maintain accurate customer account database including customer names, billing, and shipping addresses, contact information, and account parameters including data imports from other systems
• Maintain credit applications, tax exemption forms, and other documentation related to the account set-up and credit qualification process
• Process (“capture”) credit card transactions daily and coordinate collection of credit card information when not available
• Issue vouchers to accounts payable for used oil credits needing checks distributed, customer refunds for returned product, and other customer payment/refund requests as needed
• Maintain company prepaid card customer incentive program
• Generate check requests as needed and within approval limits
• Back up to Credit/payment risk analysis of new and existing customers
• Support cash application as needed while continuously looking for ways to increase cash match/validation rates
• Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

Education: Associates degree in Accounting or Business, or equivalent education. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience and/or Training:

• 3-5+ years of work experience in commercial credit, collections, and/or accounts receivable
• Strong organizational, time management and decision making skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and positively interact with customers, sales and customer service, and all other Lube-Tech employees
• Excellent problem solving skills

Licenses/Certificates: National Association of Credit Management (NACM), Credit Business Associate (CBA) certification, or higher, preferred.

Technology/Equipment:

• Excellent PC skills with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs
• Excel expert level knowledge preferred
