Summary
The IT Specialist is responsible for coordinating between the company, external vendors, and contractors about Information Technology (IT) related infrastructure and development. In this role, the IT Specialist performs IT operations, maintenance, resolves IT concerns, and advises company team members on how to resolve technical matters. A successful IT Specialist will have a passion for helping others by being the go-to person for IT related items. This individual will also partner with the Security Analyst in ensuring IT and Security items are updated and operating in an efficient manner. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the IT Specialist must demonstrate strong communication, time management, and detail orientation skills. The IT Specialist will be expected to work at the Loyal headquarters office a couple times per week.
Responsibilities
- Manages the IT Help Desk by troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Manages network and physical IT infrastructure at Loyal office headquarters
- Helps identify possible gaps in IT processes and challenges the status quo
- Responsible for assisting team members with installation and/or upgrades of software packages as needed
- Creates and maintains IT documentation (e.g., IT Help Desk documentation)
- Assists with onboarding new products and vendors
- Purchases, distributes, and maintains inventory for laptops, peripherals, and other electronics for company team members
- Orders and replaces printing supplies, installing printers and other peripherals for office-based employees as requested
- Works closely with our People team to onboard new employees and ensure everyone has what they need to perform at their highest level
- Assists Security Analyst as needed with special projects and/or high-level priority items related to cyber security
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum of three years of experience in an IT support role, systems administration role, or other similar role required
- Experience and strong familiarity using Google Workspace apps & administration required
- Experience with both Mac OS and Windows operating systems required
- Experience working with A/V for conference rooms and large meetings (Google Hangouts, Zoom, general telepresence) required
- Experience working within a software as a service (SaaS) company preferred
- Experience working within a start-up and/or ambiguous environment, with proven experience to be adaptable preferred
