Job Description:
Develops and coordinates control plans with the Quality Assurance Supervisor to reduce variability in the manufacturing process.
Direct interface with customers and suppliers on issues affecting quality.
SAFETY
1. Observe and follow rules and regulations.
2. Maintain satisfactory work area through implementation of 5S.
QUALITY
1. Eliminate or reduce the number of customer concerns or complaints.
2. Communicate customer and supplier concerns to the Q.A Supervisor and applicable departments.
3. Quality Engineer must be able to do 8-D analysis and countermeasure verification.
4. Conduct process capability studies, and initiate corrective action when necessary.
5. Participate in Failure Mode and Effect Analysis studies.
6. Develop and maintain control plans, inspection standards and check sheets.
7. Train technicians, leaders and supervisors on their product lines.
8. Assist in writing technical documents as required.
COST
1. Develop cost reduction activities for scope of position within individual department.
2. Assist in developing and coordinating Kaizen activities to improve productivity in the Quality Control
Department.
GENERAL
1. Lead by example; must demonstrate and willingness to perform a variety of duties, often changing
priorities without loss of efficiency or composure.
2. Must have demonstrated ability to perform regular audits in all quality control related areas.
3. Responsible for maintaining monthly customer and supplier visits.
4. Required to conduct regular meetings with quality technicians, to keep them current with product changes and areas of concern.
