Job Description

Longbridge’s accounting department is seeking to hire a Staff Accountant. This vital role must possess strong time management and analytical skills, attention to detail, and solid communication abilities. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. The successful candidate will have accounting or bookkeeping experience, a keen eye for details and discrepancies, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Job Responsibilities:

• Reviewing general ledger accounts and preparing and adjusting journal entries
• Performing account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts
• Reconcile daily loan postings & release daily wires
• Coordinate and prepare account reconciliations and analysis
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate accounting for purchases and expenses
• Provide backup support and coverage to general accounting operations and the accounts payable staff when necessary·
• Perform ad-hoc reports, projects and/or research as directed by the Accounting Manager
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to analyze and understand financial transactions

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 1+ years of related experience, preferably in the banking and/or mortgage industry.
• Team player, customer service oriented and strong work ethic.
• Self-reliant, ability to manage time and deadlines independently with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Experience in mortgage software products preferred but not required.
