Responsible for meeting all logistics sourcing goals in accordance with the company’s overall goals and strategies. Responsible for procurement of all logistical services requirements at LLFlex .
Position Purpose:
Provide direction, leadership, planning, communication, resource allocation and control for logistics operations company-wide. Responsible for negotiation of all logistics services; truckload, LTL, parcel packages, import, export, expedited, and movement of goods between plants and warehouses.
Essential Functions:
Provides support to the manufacturing plants.
Facilitates communication between Customer Service, Production Planning and assigned freight companies.
Negotiate all freight services; truckload, LTL, parcel packages, import, export, expedited, and movement of goods between plants and warehouses
Manages freight cost for truckload, LTL, export, import, expedite and contracted trucking services.
Monitor logistics spending.
Ensures freight invoice are audited.
Ensures optimization of production assets through effective movement/storage of inventories.
Adhere to all Company Safety rules and regulations
Contributes to a team effort by proactively assisting internal contacts.
Controls costs by proactively controlling expenses and elimination of waste.
Essential Requirements:
Some overnight travel by various modes of transportation including airline, train, and automobile as deemed appropriate
Able to work extended hours as required
Continuous contact with other people requiring communications via face-to-face, orally by telephone and various written methodologies
Essential Qualifications & Knowledge:
BS Degree in business, technical or related field or AAS Degree in business, technical or related field with 5+ years experience or Non Degree with 10 years manufacturing work experience and 5+ experience
Demonstrated in-depth experience in warehouse procedures and theories.
Extensive knowledge of logistics regulations
Proven ability to handle multiple tasks with varying deadlines
Demonstrated work ethic that operates with flexibility and approaches opportunities with an open mind, an orientation towards results, a solid business perspective and a sense of urgency and ownership of the solution.
Demonstrated understanding of ERP and Logistics applications and possess well developed computer skills in order to be able to utilize Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software.
Ability to work with extremely confidential information/situations and maintain confidentiality
Excellent oral and written communications skills through all levels of management
Proven negotiating skills
Detailed understanding of the transportation industry and options, domestic and abroad, with proven networking experience.
