Leonardo DRS Looking for Senior Quality Systems Engineer at Danbury, CT  Full Time

Responsible for supporting the Quality Management System (QMS), writing procedures and processes to support the QMS development. Develop and manage the Internal Audit program, leads audits across the business. Provide training and champion the Corrective actions and Quality Management System. Ability to work independently under supervision of others.

• Attend appropriate customer, business or program meeting
• Provide ongoing quality system support to include performing internal audits, ensuring implementation of root cause corrective action
• Initiate and drive root cause and corrective action
• Oversee effective implementation of the Quality Management System throughout the company
• Maintain the Quality Manuals and Quality Procedures and ensure contents are appropriate for business
• Analyze current and future procedural needs of the business
• Organize and manage the plant internal audit program and corrective action system
• Conduct Quality Systems audits and assist in training/guidance to other auditors
• Host external Quality System audit
• Provide training on Quality issues and business processes
• Maintain the Standard Operating Procedure content and coordinate the issuing of these documents
• Assist with training of quality awareness
• Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
• Ability to work independently under supervision of others
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

• Attend appropriate customer, business or program meetings
• Facilitate Quality System meetings, trainings and briefings
• Provide regular reporting of progress and status
• Completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements

• Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience
• ASQ certification preferred
• Familiar with ISO/AS Standards, Six Sigma tools, Statistics
• Ability to understand military specifications and to read blueprints
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skills
• Ability to define problems and drive to root cause and effective corrective action
