General Description of Duties
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
This is highly responsible and independent work supporting a County-wide network, technical, and support services center. The purpose of this position is to manage and coordinate technical tasks and assignments which are technical in nature and affect the operation of countywide computer support operations for both Leon County Government employees and Constitutional offices employees. This position delivers mobile solutions, including inter-team coordination with Systems and Network teams and coordinates current inventory of mobile assets with the inventory control officer and manages their associated accounting & billing. Serves as backup to NSA position at the Public Safety Complex. Serves as a member of the Chamber Broadcast Team and provides backup to the Sr. IT Technical Support Technician for managing the broadcast operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for all activities related to replacement and/or repair of mobile computer equipment, including all aspects of system maintenance on mobile computers including mobile desktops, mobile phones, tablets, iPads, etc. and required asset management thereof. Installs multi-platform computer equipment and software, including configuration and equipment maintenance for devices connected to the local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) via cellular and/or Wi-Fi connections. Initiates projects of considerable duration and depth to formally design, modify, create, test, and/or document the essential operation of the county-wide mobile systems.
Acts as OIT mobility manager. Coordinates installations and solutions with Systems, Network, and TSC teams. Tracks and performs post audits for installations, moves and relocations, reallocations, and surplus/salvage for LCG and Constitutional Officers. Uses and configures mobile device management tools to achieve enterprise mobile solutions. May include configuring software, maintenance, working with the vendor on licensing, renewals, how-to documentation, training, et cetera.
Performs technical tasks required for planning, installing, removing, and maintaining data communications network components and peripheral devices as it pertains to a mobile environment. Supports multiple operating systems (Android & iOS, Windows) as well as various software packages as it relates to mobile use.
Resets user passwords for Active Directory/Outlook, GIS, DNS and/or clears intruder lockouts on accounts. Assists Web Steward for IT Operations section of OIT by posting updates to the Web.
Researches and develops strategies for implementation of new mobile solutions and tests software as it relates to network communication and performance, in keeping with developing technologies. Implements and analyzes various network security procedures and techniques to assure top network security is achieved.
Provides design, configuration, management and administration of the network conferencing platform (for example: Zoom, Spaces, or Teams) and is in charge of supporting Commission meetings, Retreats, Workshops, or other special meetings as required.
Acts as backup to Network Systems Administrator at the Public Safety Complex, supporting the visualization system, EMS support, EOC support, and PSC building technologies.
OTHER IMPORTANT OR MARGINAL DUTIES
Serves as a member of the Chamber Broadcast team and provides backup support to all aspects of the production methodology including but not limited to directing, providing camera control, scheduling closed captioning, sound system support, room technologies, recording, et cetera.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CUSTOMER CONTACT
Employee provides assistance to County employees. This assistance may include, but is not limited to office automation, communication, and training support.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Tools and equipment used include personal/laptop computer, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, or other specialized software such as Mobile Device Management, Video wall, Audio/Video.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee will work mainly indoors, usually seated in a chair at a desk. Must be able to lift/push/pull in excess of 20 lbs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of data communication system design. Knowledge of computer systems operations and procedures. Working knowledge of data communications software and protocols. Working knowledge of data communications networks and gateways. Knowledge of problem solving techniques. Ability to effectively balance network workload. Ability to work with vendors in providing cost effective IT solutions. Ability to work as part of a technical team. Must be a self-starter and work independently. Ability to tactfully communicate with users and peers of varying technical expertise both verbally and in writing. Ability to make independent judgments. Knowledge of various computer and mobile device operating systems. Ability to analyze situations and solve problems. Ability to lead projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, engineering, or a related field and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid State of Florida Class “E” operator’s license and have a favorable driving record, where applicable.
Must have a CompTia Mobility+ Certification or obtain one within six months of employment.
Must have a Microsoft Certified Professional Certification (MCP) or obtain one within six months of employment.
Must have NCIC/FCIC certification with a full background check or obtain one within six months of employment.
Mobile Device Management Systems experience (such as VMWare’s AirWatch or MobileIron, etc.), A/V technical support, knowledge of Apple and Android products and configurations and tracking and auditing of mobile inventory methods.
