The Human Resource functions are to maintain and enhance Lawrence Family Development, Inc. and its programming–at the Maria del Pilar Quintana Family Center and the SISU Youth Center as well as its affiliated organizationthe Lawrence Family Development Charter Schoolby planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations, training, human resources policies, programs and practices.RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain the organizational structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions within the recruiting software AcquireTM.Ability to understand information in Human Resource Management, including legal documents.Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements.Maintain a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys and structures; supporting program supervisors with scheduling and conducting job evaluations; working with the Administration recommending human resource policies and procedures.Develop effective Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs and practices.Keep informed about current trends and practices in evaluations of licensed staff.Be familiar with Mass State Retirement Plan(s) and be aware of collective bargaining agreements for other public districts.Be familiar with Mass State Educator Licensure requirements and professional growth and student impact standards.Maintain employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to Administration; directing the processing of benefit claims; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs for workplace productivity and efficiencies.Be familiar with the administration of the Federal and Mass State Family Medical Leave Acts.Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.Serve as the organization’s representative and maintain all databases for state and federal retirement and compliance including CORI checks, fingerprinting and other systems to meet regulations of the Lawrence Family Development, Inc. and its components.Work with supervisors to establish the recruiting, testing and interviewing process; conduct and analyze exit interviews; recommending changes to HR policies.Work with administrators and directors to ensure that they are able to appropriately supervise interns and student teachers.Be familiar with the administration of Workers Compensation Insurance and Unemployment facilitation.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.Maintain historical human resource records; keeping past and ongoing current records in accordance to record retention policies and laws.Maintain the Employee Policy Manuals as well as a procedure manual of human resource tasks as a guide for backup assistance when such assistance becomes necessary.Have the knowledge of the intersection of HR systems and accounting systems, experience with payroll systems, general ledgers and year-end audits. Experience with benefit systems administration, including enrollment, maintenance and reporting.
