Labcorp Looking for Senior Director, IT Desktop and Field Support at Durham, NC Full Time

The Senior Director, IT Desktop and Field Support provides vision and leadership to the development, implementation and maintenance of the overall information systems and technology architecture of the organization, ensuring alignment with business strategy and delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success. Responsible for strategy, policies, processes, security and management of information services and systems. A strong influencer to inspire and motivate senior leadership to bring business intelligence, analytics, and technology leadership to the organization. A futuristic thinker and visionary quarterback in Public Health across diverse disciplines to develop best practices and lead teams to drive significant business development initiatives as well as identify and capitalize on new market opportunities.

What you’ll do

• Perform as a results oriented leader with the ability to deal effectively within the senior management team of the Business Unit and Corporate IT
• Partner with other IT divisional groups and Client support teams to develops a shared services IT plan that meets the client SLAs and budgetary requirements
• Enhance the engagement and communication between Corporate IT and the Business Unit
• Convert the Business Unit’s strategy into well-defined actionable technology initiatives.
• Manage the demand planning process to align future IT system and product roadmaps with the Business Unit strategy.
• Make recommendations to Corporate IT that support and guide our enterprise computing and information technology efforts.
• Consolidate the Business Unit’s IT organization and other divisional IT groups into a cohesive and aligned team.
• Assist with the development and review of the annual budget.
• Work closely with the Business Unit leadership to ensure appropriate technology refresh activities are executed within their businesses.
• Demonstrate a commitment to Corporate IT controls and standards; including information security, project management, quality control and change management.
• Support our efforts to integrate acquisitions that occur within the Business Unit

Customer Focus:

• Leverage IT and Business Unit knowledge to support our customer acquisition and retention goals, including interfacing directly with key customers (customer visits, proposals, presentations, etc. ).
• Gather customer input about existing and potential products that will create customer loyalty and generate revenue (direct revenue or core business growth).
• Participate in relevant industry technology associations/committees.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree in Health/Hospital Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration, or related field is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 15+ years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of healthcare information systems and information technology, direct management of a major IT operation is preferred.
• Significant experience in a Diagnostic Laboratory setting is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems planning to support business goals.
• Experience should also include exposure to both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of in-house information and communication systems in a multi-site client-server environment.
• Specific experience with population health systems, financial management and clinical management information systems is a plus.
• General knowledge of business processes and their interrelationship gained through three or more years of related experience.
• Business principles and techniques of administration, organization, and management to include an in- depth understanding of the key business issues that exist in the health care industry. These include, but are not limited to, knowledge of strategic and operational planning, health care economics, personnel administration, federal, state and local laws, marketing, financial and cost analysis, trends in the health care industry.
