DESCRIPTION: Provide advice and guidance on a wide range of complex IT, AV issues, interpret IT policies, standards and guidelines; conduct analysis and recommend resolution of complex issues affecting the specialty area such as unique training applications, and CRXXI (advances instructional technology environments in classrooms). In addition, will evaluate and recommend adoption of new or enhanced approaches to delivering IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data. Conduct preventative maintenance and repair on classroom IT and AV equipment.
Provide daily on-site operational and sustainment support for installed classroom audiovisual equipment (hardware, software and ancillary and associated items of equipment to include networking and video tele-training (VTT)) for TRADOC Enterprise Classroom Program (ECP) classrooms
Provide daily on-site client administration for Microsoft desktop, laptop and tablet systems.
Serve as a Classroom Support representative of the TRADOC ECP and maintain routine
communications with the TRADOC ECP PM Office.
Plan and carry out assignment related to systems administration; Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains hardware and software to ensure the availability and functionality of systems; Controls current versions and future releases of applications software, and documents the physical configuration of the information system; Optimizes the functionality of systems; and diagnoses and recovers failed systems.
Candidate should possess a comprehensive knowledge of, and skill in applying a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment used in customer organizations; and methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving IT systems to provide advice and assistance to customers; troubleshoot complex problems; and provide support in a manner that minimizes interruptions in customers’ ability to carry out critical business activities.
Provide a variety of services essential to the effective performance of installed systems. Monitors the availability and functionality of networks and systems, and detects and reports problems; participates in testing and installing systems modifications and upgrades; provides information and assistance to customers on using installed systems; and participates on teams responsible for implementing major systems changes. Exercises judgment to identify, determine the nature and potential sources of, and select appropriate actions in response to problems; evaluate test data; and anticipate customer’s needs for information and assistance. Work ensures optimal availability, interoperability, and functionality of systems installed in customer organizations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related scientific or technical discipline. (Degree may be substituted with 4 years of experience in related field)
Qualifications: Minimum 3 years’ experience;
Required: CompTIA A+ (baseline/computer environment); Baseline and computing environment certifications are required.
Preferred but not required: InfoComm International Certified Audiovisual Technology Specialist (CTS minimum certification level accepted) or InfoComm International Certified Audiovisual Technology Specialist Installation (CTS-I, preferred certification level).
Clearance: Employment contingent upon having or obtaining Secret Security Clearance or Higher
