Duties & Responsibilities:
• Determine assembly inspection requirements from Kress or customer drawing features.
• Conduct in-process inspections on machine assemblies.
• Conduct various tests and quality checks on finished products. Insure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances, readability of labels, etc.
• Document and report inspection findings and results and monitors corrective actions to inspection findings.
• Document information on the computer in various databases and other internal programs; logs the assembly non-conformities and generates a report (to-do-list)
• Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor
• Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting products for re-work; confirming re-work.
• File inspection reports
• Read and interpret specifications from part and assembly drawings
• Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment
• Verify product identification and traceability as required
• Verify loose parts content for shipments
• Document shipment loads
• Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions
• Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations
• Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Requirements:
• 2-Year Associates Degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience
• Previous quality inspection experience
• Intermediate -level proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Beginner level knowledge of surface-plate inspection techniques, measuring tools and gauges
• Demonstrated comfort level interfacing with staff and management, while working in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated job diligence, attention to details, and solid problem-solving skills
• Effective communications skills
• Commitment to quality
Preferred, but not required:
• CQI or CQE Certified
• Proven Time Management Skills
Competencies:
Intermediate level proficiency in navigating MS Windows and computer networks.
