Kennedy Jenks Consultants Looking for Senior Construction Manager / Regional CM Leader at San Francisco, CA  Full Time

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Construction Manager to lead our Northern California CM team, projects and pursuits; oversee water and wastewater related construction projects; participate in strategic planning and leadership; and be responsible for project delivery, resource management, and staff growth, with a focus on achieving the Company’s strategic plan.

What you’ll be doing:

The person in this role will lead the Northern California CM staff of over twenty construction management personnel and provide leadership on strategy, planning, staff growth, client development, and project delivery on large and complex water and wastewater projects with a construction value of up to $200 million.

As Construction Manager on assigned projects, you will:

• Serve as team leader for projects.
• Participate in daily personal interactions with clients, designers, owners, contractors, inspectors, and authorities.
• Meet regularly with all field office staff to discuss and resolve project matters.
• Facilitate the resolution of all project issues in a fair but firm manner.
• Assure project is constructed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, budget and schedule.
• Coordinate and manage sub-consultants.
• Coordinate with Operations leadership to staff upcoming projects.
• Observe, monitor and document the work of the contractor, including management of all project correspondence, RFIs, Memos to Designer, Field Directives, Clarification Letters, submittals, change orders, and progress payments.
• Develop and distribute timely meeting agendas and minutes.
• Monitor safety practices and training of team members.
• Maintain current copy of agreement with client and all change orders.
• Accounting project management, such as review and approval of employee timesheets, review and processing project status reports, review and approval of monthly billing draft statements, review and management of aging reports, etc.
• Attend public meetings as necessary.
• Prepare and distribute owner-required project reports.
• Cultivate strong relationship with client, including frequent communication of both construction and contract-related issues. Provide expert advice to client.
• Lead relevant business development activities, including pre-proposal meetings and interviews.
• Supervise construction managers, inspectors, field office staff and other team members as assigned. Be actively involved in employee’s project assignments. Mentor them and cultivate their growth and training. Actively review their work-product for quality assurance. Manage performance and conduct reviews. Coordinate staffing needs and staff availability with CM group.

What you’ll need:

• At least fifteen years of relevant experience managing all aspects of construction projects, from concept to close out, including projects in the water and wastewater industry, with experience in all facets of general contracting, engineering and construction management.
• College degree in engineering, construction management, or related field is a plus.
• Professional engineering license is desirable.
• Certifications such as CCM or PMP are desirable.
• Familiarity with materials, means, methods, tools, and contractual obligations involved in the construction or repair of various physical assets in water and wastewater facilities
• Knowledge of building codes, technical requirements of construction and current project delivery methodologies.
• Safety focused
• Experience with project management software
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $164,100 to $213,400, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, skills, licensure/certifications, seniority, geographic location, and performance.
