Human Resources Generalist Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for contributing to the company’s performance by supporting company and human resources objectives in the areas of talent acquisition, performance management, training and onboarding, communications, wellness, and the interpretation and application of employment policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Human Resources Generalist Duties and Responsibilities
Build strong and trusting relationships with the company business leaders and human resources
Lead recruiting efforts for two sites (CA & MN): create recruiting campaigns, source candidates, maintain the ATS, participate in job fairs, schedule and conduct interviews, and engage with the applicant through the onboarding process
Support HR projects and initiatives from the business and from the corporate office
Support and administer policies and procedures that support the company philosophy, culture, and strategic goals
Identify and lead process improvement initiatives
Resolve employee relations issues that are of moderate complexity
Partner with line supervisors and managers to proactively define workforce needs and key roles, implement tactical and strategic plans to meet business goals
Lead the recruiting efforts by creating recruiting campaigns, maintain the ATS, participate in job fairs, schedule and conduct interviews, and engage with the applicant through the onboarding
Manage multiple staffing vendors and contracts
Conduct onboarding and offboarding sessions & facilitate 30-60-90-day check ins with employees
May support and/or lead the workplace committee teams to include wellness and people and culture
Respond to unemployment claims and attend appeal hearings
Ensure the HRIS system, employee files, and I-9 documents are accurate and maintained
Coordinate the annual enrollment process for benefits and assist employees with benefit questions
Manage and execute the leave of absence and Workers Compensation processes including staying abreast of federal and state laws, responding to employee inquires, distributing & tracking required forms and managing leave timelines.
Provide support to the annual performance management process to include goal setting, mid-year check-ins, annual appraisals, and compensation planning
Lead COVID tracking and contact tracing; Responsible for tracking and facilitating all activities related to COVID: cases count, quarantine requirements, CA Supplemental Sick usage, etc.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law and makes recommendations where needed
Create and follow the leader standard work for the HR Generalist role
Complete all other work duties as assigned
Human Resources Generalist Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, an active HR certification through SHRM (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) or commensurate experience
5+ years of HR experience in HR
Experience recruiting entry level to management level positions in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of state, local, and federal employment laws, and regulations
Experience consulting on employee relations situations
Focused problem-solving skills, analytical and system thinking ability; demonstrated through previous experience
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
Strong initiative and results orientation
Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and multitask
