The Walden Street School is a 34 bed residential treatment facility for adolescent girls that specializes in trauma informed care and specialty treatment modalities including the ARC (Attachment, Regulation and Competency) framework. Walden provides comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and 24 hour direct care supervision. Students are referred to Walden based on struggles maintaining safety at less restrictive levels of care and who require the support of a full service treatment modality to make progress towards their treatment goals.
The Education Coordinator works to support students and staff in the classrooms and residential milieu as needed. Primary duties include compiling written reports (including IEP progress reports, treatment reports, rounds), covering classes for teachers when they are out, supporting students 1:1 as needed, and supporting the Education Director with tasks as needed. Additionally, the Education Coordinator will support students before school at breakfast, and on non-school days in the milieu, through providing student supervision, educational groups and educational field trips as appropriate for individuals/groups of students.
The position is full time Monday thru Friday with overtime available as needed. Reports directly to Director of Education/Assistant Program Director. This position is ideal for someone interested in special education, particularly with students with mental health struggles. Acceptable CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and OIG background check. Maintains valid driver’s license.
