Position Summary:

Patient liaison provides a variety of operational support within the support services departments such as patient transport, supply chain, nutrition, pathology, and pharmacy. This is a temporary position (6-12 months).

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Work Experience:

Previous experience working in clinical areas preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge about the current health care environment at The Johns Hopkins Hospital (e.g., negative pressure rooms, biomode units, modes and products used for disinfection, location of resources and references)
• This information will be taught in the Life Line Transport Training class.
• Knowledge of safe transport routefinding within the current health care environment (e.g., negative pressure rooms, biomode units, modes and products used for disinfection, location of resources and references)
• Ability to use computers and Ascom phones.
• Ability to analyze situations to make judgments regarding proper application of isolation standards, cleaning standards and proper personal protective equipment use
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to provide feedback, information and support to nursing unit personnel, Safety Officer Shift Coordinator and transport teams and other interdisciplinary health care team members as needed.
