Position Summary

The Marketing Associate will work to develop brand strategies and create marketing programs that drive breakthrough growth, primarily within our packaging businesses. The Marketing Associate will lead key components of market and consumer research, sales support, brand strategy, NPD and market activations. This person should have strengths in evaluating quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, but also in the communication of product and company value to both business to business (B2B) customer and consumer audiences.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Brand and Product Line Management:
• Provide marketing plan and strategy support by assembling and analyzing market insights and assessments, utilizing quantitative and qualitative data to identify and report trends in business to business (B2B) Packaging.
• Manage business reporting, including monthly dashboards, competitor/marketplace analyses, performance against business key performance indicators, and return on investment analyses for programs.
• Leverage insights to generate new product concepts, meeting pipeline goals.
• Research and document competitive products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising; maintaining research databases.
• Support new product development, process, and product improvement initiatives.
• Manage product mix and product lifecycles.
• Raise level of understanding across organization of our customers, consumers, and the external marketplace.

• Marketing Communications:
• Provide communication support, with the help of internal and external parties, the brand stories for multiple brands and product lines within our business to business (B2B) Packaging segment.
• Analyzing and providing recommendations based on performance metrics related to success of marketing campaigns such as impressions, leads, and conversions.
• Creation and management of non-traditional selling tools, ex: value calculators, sustainability score generators.
• Conceptualize and communicate necessary sales support materials, including, but not limited to: sell sheets, sales presentations, whitepapers, press releases, and catalogs, ensuring all resources are current and accurate

• General Support
• Support the coordination of marketing related meetings, conferences, webinars, and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements, establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, and coordinating mailing lists.
• Manage various internal processes, including facilitation of vendor payments, certification applications, new item setups, sampling, and report generation.
• Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation, while working within a pre-defined budget.

Education and Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, marketing, advertising, or communications.

Experience/Knowledge

• 3-5 years of brand or product marketing experience, preferably in a business to business (B2B) environment
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to articulate clearly and effectively orally and in writing
• Strong project management and planning skills
• Strong experience with research using data analytics software and communication of results
• Shows initiative in their work.
• Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
• Shows ability to understand business to business (B2B) and consumer trends
• Ability to identify and execute process improvements
• Shows a fundamental understanding of core business financial metrics
• Knowledge of sustainability and/or packaging industry trends a plus
• Software skills would include a proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Powerpoint. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or Epicor would be a plus

Physical Requirements

• Sitting at workstation approximately 85% (eighty-five) percent of work time.
• Standing and walking approximately 10% (ten) percent of work time.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% (twenty-five) percent of work time.
• Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces.
