Serve as a leader of the cross-functional management team on complex global projects
Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, including coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope
Projects may expand beyond the Engineering Department to support Invacare’s overall strategic goals.
Participate in strategic planning process
Work with management to develop and standardize Project Management tools and methods.
Provide coaching and supervision to engineering team members on handling various elements of Project management – time management, task dependencies, time to completion, etc.
Create an environment for continuous improvement, understanding constraints to progress, assessing risk and increasing speed to completion.
With limited direction, execute or lead the following activities:
Creation of project functional specifications
Work with management to create and gain approval of development schedule and definition of project scope and objectives
Monitors the progress of projects and measures project performance
Periodic review meetings with all functional groups, identifies and resolves issues
Take ownership for project timing and successful product completion
Establishes effective communication plans and communicates project progress to executive team
Creates project risk mitigation plans
Sets deadlines and assigns responsibilities
Assembles project team members to optimize the success of projects
Prioritize tasks based on critical paths, business needs, Quality Events, Complaint investigations
Maintains project budgets
Engage cross-functional terms comprising of Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing to ensure all activities are completed successfully.
Ensure that all project activities conform to Invacare’s quality system and conform to appropriate domestic and international safety and quality standards
Manage Engineering Teams to ensure compliance with Invacare polices and procedures.
Complete all required training applicable to assigned position

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
3 to 5 years of successful project management experience in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability in leading multiple projects and problem-solving efforts through final release while working under minimal supervision and keeping the project on schedule, within budget and meeting all functional requirements
Must possess thorough and relevant product engineering and manufacturing knowledge
Ability to contribute to the development of business strategies
Must exhibit strong leadership skills
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
Intermediate PC knowledge including Windows applications (Word/Excel/Access/Project)
Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills. Self-directed regarding project goals.
Must exhibit both strong written and verbal communication skills
