$50,000 – $65,000 a year
The Logistics Specialist analyzes and coordinates the logistics functions of all departments; daily shipping and receiving responsibilities; internal allocation and distribution; occasionally travels and may supervise temporary staff. This is a full-time position and offers a comprehensive benefits package including generous employer contribution towards health, dental and vision insurance, employer sponsored life and disability insurance and generous paid time off. The salary range is $50K-$65K, depending upon education and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:
∙ Manages logistics decisions for domestic and international shipping.
∙ Coordinates the review and approval of Incoterms and shipment documentation for international letter of credit (L/C) sales.
∙ Establishes and maintains relationships with couriers and import/export groups.
∙ Purchases logistics supplies.
∙ Recovers customer/demo systems and equipment at customer/tradeshow sites.
∙ Prepares domestic and international shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines the most economical and efficient shipping method based on predetermined criteria; selects appropriate shipping containers; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
∙ Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination and serial numbers are correct.
∙ Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
∙ Enters shipment data into Salesforce, prepares routine scheduling reports, and uploads shipping/receiving records.
∙ Sorts, counts, packages, labels, unpack, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.
∙ Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies manager
∙ Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.
∙ May operate dolly and/or pallet jack while loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may be required to drive for company business; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; may lock warehouse and set alarm.
∙ Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
∙ Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
∙ Knowledge of domestic and international commercial shipping methods and procedures.
∙ Proficiently speak, read and write the English language.
∙ Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
∙ Read, sort, check, count and verify numbers.
∙ Detects problems and reports information to appropriate personnel.
∙ Lift and manipulate heavy objects and equipment up to 65 pounds.
∙ Accurately enter data into an inventory management system.
∙ Possess sufficient personal mobility, stamina and flexibility for bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting and moving objects; stand and walk continuously throughout an eight hour shift; stretching, finger dexterity and visual acuity.
∙ Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
∙ Work safely with lasers and microscopic, optical and electrical systems.

Working Environment:
The work environment requires moderate physical activity and may require moving and lifting heavy equipment. Physical risks including exposure to class 3b & 4 lasers, electrical systems and operating dangerous equipment. May be exposed to unusual elements such as hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Use of personal protective equipment is required to prevent exposure to hazards.
