Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:
IS4S is looking for a mechanical design engineer who’s not only interested in designing components in CAD but who’s also interested in hands-on building, testing, and fielding of their designs. IS4S works closely with Air Force, Army, and Navy engineers and scientists to build advanced military systems. IS4S is looking for candidates who are self-starters, teachable, and able to learn new things as they work together with other engineers and program managers to solve challenging technical problems. Duties will include creating technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D and 3D digital models of mechanical designs. Additionally, candidates will be required to communicate with manufacturing engineers and machinists on creating sound designs that can quickly go into prototype and eventual production. Furthermore, the candidate will be required to work with test engineers and support field testing as required.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 6+ years of design engineering experience.
- Experience with Solidworks CAD software
- Ability to work closely with a small, agile development team
- Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance
Desired Experience:
- Experience with Solidworks Simulation
- Experience in DoD weapons development or integration
- Experience in prototyping and manufacturing
- Experience with programming languages like Python and C
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML
