Position: Copy Editor & Writer – SEO

Full Time (ON-SITE – NORTH AUSTIN – CEDAR PARK, TX)

Hypewired is a search engine marketing firm located in Cedar Park, TX – within a few minutes of North Austin & Round Rock. We provide enterprise-level SEO & content services for real estate agents & teams in the U.S. & Canada.

We are seeking full-time Copy Editors, Proofreaders, and Writers who have recent experience in editing website content and basic HTML.

If you’re great at editing, proofreading, and writing content and want to learn more about Search Engine Optimization and websites, then consider this a great opportunity. A continuing desire to learn & practice new SEO skills is essential.

What You Will Be Doing

You will primarily be responsible for creating, editing, publishing, and administering content, including blogs and long-form articles. General knowledge of SEO is preferred, but not required as all SEO training & support are provided.

Having an eye for “detail” is among the most critical aspects of this role.

**Note this is not necessarily a creative writing role – more science, rather than art.**

Have any experience in real estate? This role may also be a good fit for those with experience in the real estate industry, particularly real estate content editing, blogs, administering IDX real estate searches, and general website administration.

Examples of Daily Tasks Include:

• Writing, reviewing & editing new or existing content, following specific SEO guidelines
• Proofreading and editing content for grammar, sentence structure, punctuation & style/tone
• Inserting links to internal pages and external websites
• Reformatting existing pages of content (in HTML) to improve the overall SEO quality
• Editing & optimizing new content supplied by other sources

Candidate Requirements

Qualified candidates will already possess strong writing & keyboard skills. Recent experience with content management platforms is preferred – for example, WordPress. Ideal candidates will have a general understanding of, and personal interest in search engine optimization.

Skills You Need:

• Excellent reading, writing & keyboard skills
• Working knowledge of computers (Mac preferred) & internet browsers
• Recent experience with basic HTML
• Ability to edit content for overall quality, arrangement & accuracy
• Paying attention to the details, while striving for efficiency
• Experience with Google Sheets or Excel

Skills We Would Like:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism or Communications (a degree is not required)
• Knowledge of DropBox, Gmail, Google Drive, Docs & Spreadsheets
• SEO and/or Inbound Marketing work experience
• Real Estate experience is a major plus
