HX5, in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC), is seeking a senior-level aerospace engineer, or similar discipline, for space mission system simulation design and analysis. The selected candidate will work with a team of NASA civil servants and other GEARS contractors that support the GRC Mission Design and Architecture Branch to identify, develop, optimize, and analyze mission designs for space flight systems that use state-of-the-art and advanced propulsion systems. In particular, the candidate will support the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) mission design activities, where the PPE is the element that provides propulsion for NASA’s Gateway concept. Primary responsibilities include mission design and trajectory optimization for aerospace vehicles and systems, which will help to define vehicle and mission requirements. In addition, development of advanced systems analysis and analytical tools, and launch vehicle and in-space vehicle simulations, may be required.
The selected candidate will support the Mission Architecture and Analysis Branch at NASA GRC, which provides mission, system, and architecture performance and feasibility analysis for a range of projects including launch vehicle, in-space propulsion, and space craft systems.
