Position Description
The Healthcare Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the health and safety of campers and staff, and associated paperwork.
Seasonal Information
Dates of employment are from May 15, 2022 to July 31st, 2022. Start and end date may be flexible.
Essential Job Functions:

• Provide health care to meet individual needs of camp staff and campers.
• Follow health care policies/procedures as described in training and developed with Camp Director per SAC and ACA requirements.

General Job Functions:

• Oversee the implementation of COVID- 19 policies, including pre-screens, daily logs and symptom tracking.
• Oversee the camp health center, including set-up, administration and close-down, depending on need.
• Maintain inventory of all necessary medical supplies and equipment.
• Ensure staff and camper health examinations are current and on file.
• Prepare and utilize daily medical log for treatment and medications.
• Prepare and record accident/incident report forms.
• Create camper and staff allergy list for food service staff and counselor.
• Prepare, distribute, and maintain first aid kits throughout camp including camp vehicles, kitchen, offices, waterfront, activity areas, out-of-camp trips.
• Ensure supplies are well stocked and distributed as needed.
• Ensure camp staff know their role related to health care and first aid.
• Manage the screening of all campers and staff who are arriving and departing camp.
• Prior to arrival: verify healthy history and examination in online system; call to ‘pre-check’ on medications and speak with guardians of campers
• Oversee the implementation of a check-in health screening.
• Keep all medications used by campers and staff secured, per ACA.
• Report any health problems or symptoms of concern to the Camp Director.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Age 21+ required, 25+ preferred.
• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license preferred
• Driver’s license.
• Experience in both child and adult illness/injury care.
• Desire to work with children and young adults.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Community health knowledge.
• Knowledge and acceptance of beliefs and principles of the Girl Scout movement; willing to register as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA.

Wages & Benefits
Pay starting at $550+ per week depending on experience. Benefits include employee housing with AC and meals.
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements of all camp staff positions include prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, hiking, climbing, and stretching; requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to utilize camp equipment and ensure the safety of the campers and staff; requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; willing to live in a camp setting; daily exposure to the sun, heat, and animals such as bugs, snakes, bats, horses etc.
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity. Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
