About us

Horizons NYC at Explore Schools is a medium business in Brooklyn, NY. We are engaging, autonomous and our goal is to Horizons is a summer learning program on a mission to advance academic equity through reducing summer learning loss among under-served students in our communities. Our program delivers a project-based learning curriculum that is age-appropriate, hands-on, and fun, while also offering students an abundance of enrichment learning in the arts, sciences, and recreation. Horizons is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated educators to join our summer learning program team! Our teachers are a critical part of our academic program, and typically return each summer as mentors and leaders. We are excited to welcome the first cohort of teachers into this exciting pilot program to support our students!.

• Facilitate the development of an SEL curriculum that will be incorporated into daily summer camp instruction.
• Lead SEL lessons across kindergarten through 5th grade.
• Facilitate smaller SEL groups on an as need basis with select students
• Hours: 10am – 2pm
• Dates: 6/27/22 – 7/29/22
• Teach 3 45-60 minute classes per day (M-TH)
• Cover a 50-minute lunch block
• Fridays 8:30am – 3:00pm to support with Field Trips
• $75 per hour for leading SEL classes
• $25 per hour for all other work (lunch coverage and field trip Fridays)

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $50.00 – $75.00 per hour

Schedule:
