Responsibilities
Job Summary
This position has multiple facility responsibility for biomedical equipment services. This position provides direction and leadership in the development of an optimum medical technology service delivery model which facilitates patient care in the operational and strategic settings. This includes coordination of medical equipment services between organizational and outside entities. In addition, the position will manage assigned system wide strategic programs that improve operational efficiency, financial performance, and service excellence. Programs include, but are not limited to, diagnostic imaging engineering, capital lifecycle management, medical device cyber security, and electronic medical record integration.
Position requires the ability to work independently, and with minimal supervision, be able to make rapid and accurate decisions, maintain superior communication with assigned staff, customers, and management to provide high quality patient care and customer satisfaction. Must have ability to analyze, plan, and implement solutions to complex problems.
- Provides overall general management direction and support for the daily operations of both Radiology Engineering and Biomedical Engineering according to DNV regulations. Supervises the personnel assigned to HTM Biomedical Engineering. Plans, establishes, and revises work assignments and schedules.
- Hires, trains and conducts performance evaluations, and coordinates the work of the department. Participates in the development and implementation of Hires, trains, and conducts performance evaluations. Coordinates daily production support. Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and supervision of the Healthcare Technology Management program. Firm grasp of departmental analytics on various software programs, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), and Microsoft Office products. Leverages project management tools and techniques to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Promotes a team oriented work ethic based on service excellence principles by emphasizing performance standards that are customer focused and by hiring, counseling, and evaluating staff in a manner consistent with those principles. Promotes a continuous quality improvement philosophy.
- Recommends and provides technical expertise on major modifications, projects, installations, and pre-purchase evaluations. Acts as a primary resource between customers and vendors and draws expertise and resources from within the department to help support these objectives.
- Reviews all service documentation, including safety alerts/hazard recalls, CMS, ECRI, and other related literature. Reviews and/or updates job descriptions, service reports, and scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Participates in the development of the department budget in conjunction with established goals and objectives. Plays a key role in ensuring budgetary goals are met on an annual basis
- Participates in appropriate committees and workgroups. This includes participating in the development and implementation of all HTM Biomedical processes, procedures, and programs to increase facility operational efficiency and effectiveness, as well as to ensure the delivery of quality customer care. Initiates and follows through with service recovery when appropriate.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
