GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is looking for a senior technical resource in the area of biogeochemistry, assisting project and proposal teams from across GZA’s footprint in developing appropriate investigation and in-situ remedial approaches based on strong geochemical/biogeochemical principles. Familiar with a wide range of chemical contaminants, site investigation and testing approaches and in-situ remedial technologies. Knowledgeable about forensic techniques and fate and transport processes. Active in professional associations and annually presents professional papers and/or presentations for external visibility. Assists with internal training and technical practice development. Ability to marry practical project needs with theoretical requirements. Limited travel required (typ. 2-3 days per month). Flexibility with respect to remote work.
Responsibilities:
:
- 50%: Working with project teams as a technical specialist on Environmental Site Investigation (ESI) and Environmental Remediation (ER) Projects, advising teams based on geochemical/biogeochemical principles with respect to appropriated investigation testing strategies and in-situ remedial approaches.
- 20%: Assisting proposal teams as a technical specialist on ESI and ER proposal efforts (see above)
- 15%: Writing, submitting and presenting professional papers at targeted industry conferences and for regional and national publications. Professional Association involvement.
- 15%: Participation on corporate committees, internal training, SOP development
Qualifications:
:
- Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Chemical/Civil Engineering degree (MS or PhD)
- Strong understanding of Geochemistry and Microbiology
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Environmental Consulting (Ideally in environmental site investigation and/or remediation, with several year of field experience) or other science-focused organization
- Minimum of multiple prior professional presentations at major industry conferences
- Excellent communication/presentation skills
- Good time management skills
