Has lead responsibility for the operation and maintenance of boilers and support equipment associated with the central steam heating and chilled water systems. May be assigned responsibility for full plant operations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: co-workers, vendors, suppliers, contractor personnel, engineers and environmental health and safety personnel. This position will typically advise and counsel: lower level stationary engineers. This position will supervise: NA.
Job Duty 1 –
Provide work direction in plant operations.
Job Duty 2 –
Operate and maintain components of boilers, hot domestic water, condensate systems, chiller, cooling tower and distribution systems including, pressure vessels, pumps, motors, piping, valves, strainers and/or controls
Job Duty 3 –
Operate and maintain components of control system including electrical, pneumatic and/or DDC controls.
Job Duty 4 –
Test and troubleshoot components of natural gas and/or propane burner and supply systems including burners, pumps, piping, valves, filters and controls.
Job Duty 5 –
May make purchases of materials and supplies required in operation and maintenance efforts.
Job Duty 6 –
Record, track and report operational and testing data and results.
Job Duty 7 –
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma
Other Required Qualifications
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC); USAW (Weightlifting) sports performance or club coach; First Aid/CPR/AED
Required Experience
Four to five years of job related experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Advanced boiler operator or inspector license, formal training program completion in related field, universal CFC Refrigerant Recovery License or other more advanced State of Georgia HVAC License Preferred skills include ability to operate and maintain building systems, machine tools, maintenance equipment, motor vehicles, hand/power tools, electrical/electronic instrumentation and light equipment

SKILLS
This job requires master level skills in the operation, cleaning, inspecting, adjusting, repairing, replacing, calibrating, testing and troubleshooting of generating and distribution system for heating and cooling. Working knowledge of computers, controls, electrical systems, utility services, reading drawing and specification, general construction practices, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting practices is also required.
