When you have a top engineering firm and a top recruiting firm partner together, amazing things happen. We are currently working hard, trying to locate an Energy Engineer for a leading engineering firm. 

What is an Energy Engineer?

The Energy Engineer independently performs a variety of tasks related to Energy Assessment, Conservation, Facility Optimization, and Commissioning/Validation projects.  Whew!  Obviously an extremely important role in a building environment, and therefore there are some definite qualifications. 

• BS Engineering from ABET-accredited program
• Achieved Certified Energy Manager (CEM) accreditation
• FE certified, working towards PE certification

The Energy Engineer must have the ability to collaborate with others to meet the needs of the client and project timeline.

While the Energy Engineer role is an independent role, one of the key factors for this position is to foster a collaborative approach to all activities and work effectively with other colleagues, both internal and external.

• Collaborate with the experienced engineering team to perform onsite validation and review equipment and controls to identify and improve performance
• Prepare technical reports, or contribute parts to a team for full reporting
• Travel to sites to prepare and review energy calculations, HVAC, Lighting, standby power, and other energy-consuming or producing equipment, components, or systems

The Energy Engineer must have the ability to execute various Computer-Based Building Modeling Programs to evaluate system performance.
