Job Description – IT Technical Support Specialist

Reports to: Director of IT

Hours: Full -Time

Position Type: Exempt

Help Desk.

• Monitor, manage, track and document all issues and solutions.

• Assist with setting up computer workstations with all necessary peripherals connected.

• Assist with set up and installation of printers, scanners, etc.

• Track toner inventory for printers and copiers. Notify CBS-GISX of repairs of copiers/printers

• Support PC desktops.

• Image and rollout images for desktops.

• Assist in the creation of login accounts for new students and teachers for PCs and G-Suite

• Provide orientation and guidance to users on operating laptops, Chromebooks, computers,

software…etc.

• Responsible for updating and maintaining the OnSIP software and VoIP phone hardware.

• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (connectivity, wifi, hardware).

• Maintain the inventory of all equipment at your site (interactive boards, projectors, etc.).

• Working with the Assistant Director of Technology assists in troubleshooting internet

outages.

• Set up projectors, screens, soundboards, microphones, and computers for presentations.

• Working with JAMF makes sure iPads have all necessary apps and updates.

• Provide all support for iPads.

• Become familiar and ultimately able to assist with security systems, cameras, etc.

• Be familiar with all aspects of Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Slides, Classroom, etc.)

MINIMUM TRAINING

Graduation from a two-year college or technical school and one year experience; or equivalent
combination of training and experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and tools including computers,
scanners, computer software, computer hardware, sharing devices, etc. Must be able to exert
up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a
negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Requires the ability to read a variety of correspondence, technical manuals, newsletters, trade
journals, etc. Requires the ability to prepare reports, forms, training materials, system
documentation, etc. using prescribed formats.

Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect
data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical
instructions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Basic knowledge of electronic principles and fundamentals of physics as applied in

electronics.

• General knowledge of computers and related technology devices.

• General knowledge of electronics devices.

• Familiarity with the operation and uses of standard test equipment.

• Basic knowledge of mathematical principles as applied in electronic circuit analysis.

• Ability to systematically troubleshoot standard electronics devices.

• Ability to communicate effectively with users.

• Fluent in French a plus.
