Finvisor Looking for Startup Senior Accountant at Remote Full Time

Finvisor is a startup-focused full-service accounting firm (accounting, AP/AR, payroll, forecasting, CFO, and controller services). We manage our client’s financial operations so that they can focus on growing their product and business.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support our accounting department. This exciting position involves overseeing the accounting and financial needs of a number of high-growth startups.

The ideal candidate has management experience and a strong understanding of monthly accounting closes as well as implementing department-wide accounting procedures for a small business.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Define and implement rigorous accounting processes and controls
• Perform all general ledger functions: revenue recognition, accounting for prepaid expenses, short and long term investments, and accrued liabilities, inventory tracking, depreciation and amortization, equity, and interest income and expense
• Controller review of monthly client closes
• Oversee all accounting functions, including A/R, A/P, cash flow management, and financial reporting
• Develop revenue recognition and other accounting policies, processes, and internal controls, consistent with GAAP
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements, offer insights on technical accounting areas, including footnotes, disclosures, and audit responses as needed
• Identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure accurate and timely tax filings and payments to Federal, State and Local tax agencies

Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, including preparation of audited GAAP financial statements
• Good written and verbal communication skills are a must, with an emphasis on clear and sensitive responses to client inquires and escalations.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a resourceful nature, team-first attitude, and problem-solving nature
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while simultaneously meeting company goals and deadlines
• In-depth knowledge and direct experience working with accounting systems (any one or more of: Quckbooks, Xero, optionally NetSuite, Sage Intacct)
• Proficient in Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong desire to tackle new challenges and projects with enthusiasm

Pay: $75,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
