Senior Manager, Planning and Operations – Marketing Strategy & Enablement

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Manager of Planning and Operations to join the Strategic Planning team within the marketing division. This is a new role that will lead the intersection between marketing strategy and product planning, translating marketing priorities into concrete requirements, building business cases, and tracking implementation. Partnering closely with marketing, product, and tech leaders across the organization, this role will be instrumental in bringing our brand value propositions to life for our travelers around the globe.
What you’ll do:
Working with Strategic Planning leadership, develop a streamlined and effective operating model for marketing-led initiative intake, prioritization setting, and requirements gathering in alignment with product planning processes
Own the quarterly cross-divisional product intake process for the marketing teams, ensuring all product requirements are gathered, thoughtfully synthesized, and tracked through the prioritization process
Support the annual strategy planning process by helping articulate marketing priorities into cross-divisional strategic initiatives inclusive of product development needs
Be the expert for the marketing organization on the highly matrixed product planning and engagement processes. Simplify the complex for organization, shepherd the team through the processes, provide templates as guides, and ensure no balls get dropped
Represent the marketing organization in cross-divisional planning forums, connecting the dots across the marketing functional teams to bring together a single point-of-view on priorities and product capability needs
Provide strategic support by building viable business cases and providing product planning knowledge that translates marketing use cases into product requirements
Partner closely with product & tech planning teams to optimize the cross-divisional planning processes, advocating for the unique needs of brand strategy and marketing channel teams
Bring visibility and clarity of the product planning process and delivery roadmaps by providing executive summaries, progress reports, and centralized resources

Understanding of digital marketing and product development preferred
MBA or Bachelor’s degree; or Equivalent related professional experience
2+ years of work experience as a planner or program manager
Experience with JIRA, use case development, and scoping requirements
Proven attention to detail in dealing with large, cross-company projects
Project management training, qualification, or experience
Previous experience working with global brands
