Enercon Services, Inc. Looking for Entry Level Civil / Transmission Engineer at Remote Full Time

Due to continued growth, our Energy Group is seeking an Entry Level Civil/Transmission Engineer to support our Transmission Engineering team in the Power Delivery Group. Our office location is Flexible Domestic. This is a unique and challenging opportunity to step into a design role and interface with our current and future customers, work on exciting projects and maximize our customer base and increase profitability. In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate and contribute toward complex projects.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Prepare designs of low, medium, and high voltage transmission lines
• Model transmission lines using Power Line System’s industry-leading design software suite
• Learn and understand design criteria and associated design codes
• Perform structural and electrical clearance checks
• Develop and analyze foundation designs
• Evaluate and provide commentary on design alternatives
• Prepare engineering calculations and drawings supporting permit applications
• Prepare issue for bid and issue for construction packages, workbooks, and release letters
• Conduct engineering-related studies
• Effectively manage multiple tasks for multiple projects

Required Qualifications / skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Mechanical Engineering will be considered)
• Experience in using PLS-CADD for designing transmission lines considered a plus
• Exposure to design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI
• Experience liaising with substation, transmission, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders considered a plus
• Must be proficient with typical office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Windows
• Ability and willingness to travel to clients’ construction sites as needed (must possess a valid driver’s license, have access to a car and be willing to enter energized electric substations with proper training and PPE); most travel is expected to be within driving distance of the ENERCON office at this time
• Ability and willingness to work occasional off-hours to support clients and/or meet deadlines (including weekends if necessary)
• Must be self-driven in time management to meet deadlines and provide accurate deliverables
• Must be willing to learn new skills on the job with assistance from the Supervisors, Managers, and others in the department
• Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client-specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies
• Required to travel less than 5% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project and/or marketing meetings
