ENERCON Looking for Senior Risk Applications Engineer at Kennesaw, GA  Full Time

Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Service Group is seeking a Senior Risk Applications Engineer in support of several major utility clients. This position can be remote but preferred to be in Kennesaw, GA location.

Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)

• This engineer will support various projects involving risk-informed applications, such as Risk-Informed Technical Specifications Initiatives 4b and 5b, and 10 CFR 50.69 system categorization and alternative treatments.
• Developing technical attachments or enclosures for risk-informed license amendment requests.
• Prioritizing systems for categorization.
• Identifying system functions.
• Mapping components to system functions.
• Developing software models for overall system categorization.
• Preparing portions of 50.69 system categorization documents.
• Assisting with other aspects of the 50.69 categorization process under oversight from a PRA engineer.
• Supporting development of engineering program alternative treatments for low safety significant components.
• Maintaining project files on SharePoint
• Assisting with other deterministic aspects of a STRIDE (Surveillance Test Risk-Informed Documented Evaluation.)
• Performing reviews of industry and plant-specific data for:
  • Operating experience
  • System health
  • Industry Codes and Standards
  • Test history
  • Maintenance Rule

Required Qualifications / skills

• B.S. in Engineering and 10 years of nuclear power plant experience (No prior PRA experience is required for this position).
• Strong familiarity with nuclear power plant systems.
• Prior experience with risk-informed applications is beneficial.
• Ability to read P&IDs and electrical and instrument drawings.
• Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with team, clients, management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message.
• Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
• Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills.

Employment Requirements

• Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.
• Required to travel up to 25% of the time to client sites for project and/or marketing meetings. Activities at client sites may require pre-job briefs and walkdowns at the site, including occasional climbing.
