Ellumen, named a Top Workplace by the Washington Post, is a small business headquartered in Silver Spring, MD. We provide a broad spectrum of information technology and ancillary services to government and commercial customers primarily within the healthcare delivery domain. We seek a remote / telecommute Sr. Data Engineer to join us in support of Defense Health Agency.
The Data Engineer will dive into existing data sources and create a plan for how to curate, tag, break apart data and create schemas for different API’s.

The Data Engineer will dive into existing data sources and create a plan for how to curate, tag, break apart data and create schemas for different API’s.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifies business trends and problems through complex big data analysis.
- Interprets results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently.
- Designs, develops, and implements the most valuable business solutions for the organization.
- Prepares big data, implements data models, and develops database to support the business solutions.
- Works autonomously. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in area of specialization.
- Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.
- Actively participates in Scrum meetings
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education and Experience: Master’s Degree or 10+ years of related experience.
- Python or Node and AWS experience desired.
- Knowledge of serverless functions (e.g. Lambda or Knative) helpful.
- Experience with multiple data store types preferred (e.g. Relational Databases, Data Lakes, ElasticSearch, etc).
- Experience in an Agile environment.
- Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Public Trust clearance.
