DS Smith Reading Packaging Looking for Reliability Engineer at Reading, PA Full Time

Support the Engineering function by constantly assessing & challenging the effectiveness of maintenance activities with the objective of improving equipment performance and availability. Responsible for analyzing faults, adjusting maintenance schedules as well as improving plant reliability, availability and maintainability. Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations.

• Originates and develops analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment and processes.
• Gathers and examines basic reliability data from field studies or database (MVP Plant, ERP) and correlates the data for analysis using well-defined engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
• Develops or adjusts the PM Programs as necessary and implements Condition Based Monitoring technique on critical parts of the assets.
• Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements.
• Conducts analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the required reliability approach. Consideration must include items such as equipment uptime/downtime, repair/replacement costs, availability of materials/equipment and their criticality.
• Determines cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.
• Initiates elemental engineering studies into equipment/process failures and presents analysis details, budgeted options suggested & expected benefits to Engineering Manager for approval/feedback.
• Assists other engineering techs in root cause failure analysis to avoid future failures.
• Develop a culture of continuous improvement in the department.
• Provides guidance in the use of standard company procedures for use in reliability analysis specific to the product/process.
• Observational cards or any other site specific tool to help to shape the Health and Safety behavior on our site.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $99,000.00 – $124,000.00 per year
