Davey Resource Group Looking for Utility Designer – On-site Training Required at Remote Full Time

Location:

Richfield OH(4-6 weeks of training in-office) then Remote

Work Schedule:

Set schedule for your first 4-6 weeks of training; Flexible schedule and ability to work remote after training. Overtime Available

Top Skills Needed:

AutoCAD Experience, Training in Drafting/Design, MS Office

Top Nice to Have Skills:

• GIS Experience

• Utility Experience

Education and certifications/licensures required:

• Associates/Bachelors or a related technical discipline; A degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering is a plus

• High School diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year of AutoCAD design experience required

• A valid state driver’s license

Responsibilities include:

• Digitally perform audits of existing telecommunication and electrical distribution activities

• Select and interpret data, on a map-based platform

• Analyze field photography and translate field measurements across softwares

• Accurately identify and record telecommunications and electrical equipment and structures

• Execute and plan daily goals while meeting quality, time, and budget constraints.

• Apply engineering design standards to aerial and underground pole/line cable including Joint -Use Design, Make Ready, Pole Replacement, Primary Service, Reliability/Maintenance Design, Upgrades, Voltage Conversion, and Tie Lines.

• Collaborate with others (project managers, other engineers, clients, technicians, and administration) to learn how to devise the best infrastructure solutions.

Required Skills:

• Must possess high levels of computer understanding – especially MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and/or Google Chrome

• Strong oral and written communication skills. Comfortable speaking with multiple levels of management.

• Ability to learn and operate customer based proprietary software and other computer systems.

• Expedite and facilitate project based work orders in a timely fashion.

• Proven ability to deal with governing authorities and their requirements, negotiate with private landowners, and provide communication, instruction, and guidance as needed to contractors.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of drafting or modeling softwares is beneficial. Some of these include: AutoCAD/ARCGIS, Spida Calc, O-Calc, or Katapult

• Understanding of telecommunication and/or electrical distributions systems is a plus

• Ability to read and comprehend engineering schematics and plans is a plus

Additional Information:

Candidates must be comfortable working full time with a minimum of 40 – 45 hours per week. Compensation based on experience. Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
