Dana is searching for a skilled and motivated engineer with a proven record of innovation in the field of CAE analyses. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of automotive systems, model-based design tools and methods, and be recognized as an innovative problem solver that makes sound decisions and delivers high quality results. He/she will also demonstrate leadership as a team player who introduces new ideas and methods, advises on best practices and works with others to deliver new products to customers and help move the business forward.
Primary Duties:
* Conduct non-linear, structural finite element analysis of drivetrain systems, subsystems, and components
* Conduct random vibration and impact analyses of drivetrain systems, subsystems, and components
* Perform NVH and acoustic analyses for traditional and/or electrified axle product
* Interpret results, make recommendations, write reports, and present work to internal and external customers
* Interface with all internal disciplines including: Materials, Advanced, Product, Applications, Manufacturing/Assembly, Rapid Prototyping, Design, and Test & Development
* Support development of simulation procedures, methodologies, and continuous improvement activities for the department
Requirements:
* Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in Mechanical Design or Analysis, preferred
* 5 years of experience using ABAQUS, required
* 5 years of experience using feSafe or other fatigue code, required
* 5 years of experience with Hypermesh or Abaqus CAE, required
* 3 years of experience in electrified powertrain engineering or related field, strongly preferred
* Expert knowledge of structural finite element methods, required
* Expert knowledge of analytical NVH methods, preferred
* Working knowledge of Romax and Actran, preferred
* Proficient knowledge of materials engineering and experience in material characterization for FEA, preferred
* Strong computer skills with programming and scripting experience, preferred
* Strong workload management and follow-up skills
* Excellent mechanical aptitude and strong analytical ability
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated technical leadership and accomplishments in previous position(s)
* Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision
* Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside of Dana in a professional manner
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Willing to work additional hours, as needed
