Cordoba Corporation Looking for Planner / Designer at Ontario, CA Full Time

Position Summary

An opportunity exists at Cordoba for a Planner/Designer position. The Planner/Designer is responsible for planning, designing, developing, coordinating, and managing additions and modifications to our client’s gas and electric facilities from the start of a project through completion. The ideal candidate is experienced in preparation of construction drawings, electrical calculations, and bill of materials for electrical and gas distribution lines. We are seeking motivated individuals who are eager to learn and have exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Currently, this is a remote position, you may work from home or from one of our offices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• The qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and construction of electric and gas distribution lines and be able to apply their knowledge for developing new designs. Deliverables can include but are not limited to: construction drawings, materials inventory (install and removals), environmental/FAA/permitting releases, easements, fielding photos and notes, distribution planning coordination requests, and GIS maps.
• Conducts field visits to analyzes the feasibility of additions and modifications to gas and electric facilities.?
• Review current/proposed meter locations for compliance.
• Analyzes customer service load data to size material correctly. Perform calculations such as pole loading, voltage drop/flicker and cable pulling.
• Prepares construction plans and cost estimates with safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs that conform to our clients’ standards and preferences and governmental regulations.?
• Create design deliverables that are consistency with engineering deliverables and/or designer calculations.
• Attend meetings with clients, customers, vendors, and governing agencies as required.
• Ensure and maintain compliance with applicable company and client standards and procedures.
• Responsible for negotiating agreements and cost responsibilities in compliance with our clients’ Company Policies.
• Manage projects from initiation to the completion of the installation of facilities and ensure we meet the customers construction schedule.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of department and company goals.
• Participate in special projects or tasks as required.?
  • This position will be stationed in Cordoba’s San Diego office. Occasional travel to various Cordoba partner offices should be expected. Remote candidates may be considered dependent upon qualifications.

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise

Required:?

• Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • Knowledge of overhead and underground electric utility distribution design, construction standards and industry practices.?

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects.
  • Proficiency utilizing knowledge and skills with MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and computer applications.?
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship.?
  • Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check.?
• High level of personal integrity with a strong work ethic.?
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

• • Knowledge of detailed material and labor requirements for construction of overhead electric utility distribution pole replacement projects
  • Knowledge of underground electric utility distribution design and construction standards and industry practices.
  • Experience with SAP-based material and labor inventory. CPD/iCue (San Diego Gas & Electric) highly preferred.

Education?

• • High School Diploma is required. Post-Secondary education preferred, preferably in a related field. Relevant experience may replace the degree requirement.?

• • Overhead and underground electric utility?distribution experience including applicable codes.?
• Experience with CPUC GO-95 and GO-128.
• Experience with Rule 15 and 16 Tariff?
• Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, O-Calc, and GIS
  • Experience with Pacific Gas & Electric distribution planning, design and/or construction highly preferred.?
  • Experience with other California utilities distribution planning, design and/or construction.?
