Cordoba Corporation Looking for Distribution Engineer at Los Angeles, CA Full Time

Position Summary:

An opportunity exists at Cordoba for a Distribution Engineer who is familiar with utility mapping, construction, and structure engineering specifically for distribution 4kv thru 33kv. The Engineer will join a team of dedicated aerial overhead inspection Linemen in Southern California with the goal of ending wildfires caused by distribution malfunctions. The crew uses high-definition photos captured by drones to collect data, interrogate & inspect power line structures. The Engineer will maintain, cultivate & protect the client relationship, analyze, compile data & present findings, sustain current & future processes, collaborate when procedures or conditions change, become an ally with Team leaders, Project Managers, Mapping Engineers & IT Specialists. Must be familiar with distribution equipment and aware of how time and weathering appear to degrade equipment. Currently, this is a remote position, you may work from home or from one of our handsome offices located in, Los Angeles, Ontario, Santa Ana or San Diego.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with engineering and design team at Cordoba to review distribution engineering designs. Deliverables included in review can include but are not limited to: fielding photos and notes, and project tracking data.
• The qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and construction of electric distribution lines and be able to apply their knowledge for developing new designs

• Provide clear and concise comments and justifications where deficiencies are observed.
• Identify trends or new issues and raise them for management review along with potential solutions.
• Ensure and maintain compliance with applicable company and client standards and procedures.
• Attend meetings with clients, vendors and governing agencies as required.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of department and company goals.
• Participate in special projects or tasks as required.

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

Required:

• Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and/or independently. Must be adaptable and flexible.
• Proficiency utilizing knowledge and skills with MS Office Suite (including MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Outlook, PowerPoint) and computer applications.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship.

• Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check.
• High level of personal integrity with a strong work ethic.

Preferred:

• Highly preferred EIT certification with intent to obtain PE licensure at minimum.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school. Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering Degree strongly preferred.

Experience

Required:

• 1+ years overhead electric utility distribution experience including applicable codes.

Preferred:

• 3+ years overhead electric utility distribution experience including applicable codes.
• Experience with construction of distribution lines.
• Experience with CPUC GO-95.
• Experience with San Diego Gas & Electric distribution design and/or construction highly preferred.

• Experience with other California utilities distribution design and/or construction.
