Cleveland-Cliffs Looking for Electrical Engineer at Virginia, MN Full Time

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Engineer at our Minorca Mine operation. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing site-wide electrical engineering and project support to ensure the reliability of electrical equipment throughout the mining facility. The ideal candidate will have prior mining or mineral processing experience, be self-motivated and have the skills to work with site personnel and contractors to maintain all electrical systems, including power systems and power infrastructure throughout the mining facility.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Lead and assist in electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Maintain and improve electrical drawings and documentation.
• Assist in planning equipment outages and upgrades.
• Work with site personnel and contractors to implement electrical projects.
• Manage electrical projects from cost projections and justifications, materials specifications, calculation, and design to construction, installation, and start-up.
• Administer and maintain SKM software project to coordinate power systems, load flow, and monitor arc flash potential.
• Participate in maintaining of all Electrical systems, including power systems and power infrastructure
• Other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 3 years of experience in heavy manufacturing environment.
• Field service, troubleshooting, and project support experience.
• Ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple projects across the site based on risk level while maintaining schedule compliance.
• Use of CMMS Work Order, Equipment, Events, Scheduling, and Requisition modules.
• Solid computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer preferred.
