Children’s Therapy Center Looking for Social Media Specialist, Part-Time-Temporary at Kent, WA Full Time

We provide individualized, family-centered therapy including early support services, early childhood special education, physical, occupational and speech therapy. Children’s Therapy Center’s is looking for a part-time Social Media Specialist to execute social media marketing strategy and build relationships with CTC program and administrative staff to develop meaningful social content to share that reflects CTC’s values and mission. This is a part-time (10 hours/week) position, expected to last 6-months, with possible extension.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create customized, coordinated and timely social media posts across channels to drive individual engagement
• Develop and implement a social media content calendar to which contributions are made from a minimum of 3 departments and/or teams every month (including ESIT, center program, HR/recruiting, community engagement, equity, special education, therapy services, advocacy, etc.)
• With support from the Director of Communications and CTC’s Equity Team, evaluate stories and content with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at the forefront, developing a DEI lens for use in all Social Media Content
• Oversee social media engagement and respond to supporters’ questions and comments
• Source and develop appropriate content organization-wide, including but not limited to:
  • family stories featuring a diversity of ages, ethnicities, diagnoses, etc.
  • staff interviews/professional spotlights
  • stories and content that support fundraising efforts such as events and campaigns
  • stories and content that support CTC’s recruitment efforts
  • stories that feature our work with partner organizations
  • stories and content that help promote relevant community efforts such as events for special needs kids/families
• Identify and cross-post content from CTC program staff and other sources to further develop CTC’s relationships and exposure in community, including but not limited to:
  • Legislators working in support of CTC/children and youth
  • Partner organizations with priority in using a DEI lens through which to prioritize content
  • Leading research/campaigns in support of diagnoses such as autism
  • CTC-staff endorsed resources that families will find useful and practical, with emphasis on providing multilingual materials
• Use graphic design to create branded compelling images, videos, formatting, and/or infographics in support of digital event communications
• Utilize content creation tools that allow for maximum accessibility, including features such as image descriptions, captions, design principles, screen reader compatibility verification in alignment with W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines

• 1-2 years minimum experience working in a social media capacity at a nonprofit or other organization
• Foster teamwork, partnership and equity through effective interpersonal skills, active listening, intentional relationship development and exceeding customer expectations.
• Reliable, resourceful, professional, and proactive, with ability to respond to stories quickly and produce quality content
• Flexibility to respond to events and opportunities as needed, which may include weekends and evenings, on occasion.
• Ability to visit all CTC site locations regularly based on need, in order to capture stories, photos and videos from families and staff; access to reliable transportation with the with flexibility to shift as needed based on opportunities
• Utilize a DEI lens and formal tool/process through which all content is evaluated
• Availability to support special efforts (fundraising event, grand openings, etc.) with additional coverage including live feeds, video shorts, etc.
• Ability to prepare a monthly analytics report, with the goal of deepening engagement for CTC’s sites over the long term.
• Intermediate skill-use of MS Office and other software to manage workflow, communicate, and deliver
• Knowledge of social media channels (specifically Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn) as well as Hootsuite. Ability to schedule posts and modify as needed.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to provide both short and long-form content that can be used or developed for purposes of web site, promotional materials, etc.
• Strong attention to detail (i.e. grammar/punctuation, processes and procedures around obtaining permissions, etc.)
• Experience with photography and video (with video editing skills strongly preferred)
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Experience, professional or personal, in a similar setting; i.e. pediatric therapy and/or Early Supports
• Bilingual is a plus
