Being an employee at Children’s is more than just protocols and medication rounds—it’s knowing when a hug is the most important thing in the world to a child. It’s knowing that sometimes laughter really is the best medicine. But, most important, it’s giving patients and families exactly the care they need, when they need it.
Greets visitors, patients, family members and other employees, determines their needs and directs them accordingly. Provides basic clerical, secretarial, and office support to department. Proactively supports the efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and to promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1.Welcomes visitors, determines nature of business and announces visitors to appropriate employee. Answer questions about Children’s and provide visitors and callers with requested information.
2.Checks voice mail system each morning for previous night’s calls. Forwards all voice mail messages to appropriate employee’s mailbox.
3.Answers incoming telephone calls, screens caller regarding the purpose of the call, and transfers to the appropriate staff member or department.
4.Maintains reservations for conference rooms, tracks vacation schedules and employees who are out of the office.
5.Provides other clerical support as assigned, such as typing correspondence, filing, photocopying, faxing, collating, opening and sorting mail.
6.May perform other department-specific duties and fill in for other staff members and other assignments as appropriate.
