Job Summary:
The Product Analyst will prepare, analyze and share the customer forecast and performance model to better inform the sales leadership, frontline sales team, supply chain and manufacturing sites. The Product Analyst will be responsible for developing and delivering the information insights needed to make our team more efficient and effective.
Job Description:
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze daily product status report, which includes outstanding orders, daily shipments, rail car locations and demurrage by customer.
- Maintain customer forecast and performance model, ultimately providing the product line VP and sales team with a forecasting and business analytical look to make key decisions that will improve overall performance to business plan and product margins.
- Collaborate with customers, sales team and manufacturing sites to ensure effective and timely rail car shipments.
- Work with Supply Chain to develop and improve rail car placement plans and rail rate reports/metrics.
- Support periodic product analytics to identify opportunities for optimizing DEF/UL rates.
- Plan and execute strategies for planned and unplanned plant maintenance events in order to minimize freight costs.
- Assist team with analytics to justify new plant investments in order to support growth of DEF/UL business.
- Support the development and publishing of sales processes and policies for both internal and external customers (i.e. demurrage policy, pricing policy).
Internal Controls:
Understands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies.
Successful incumbents will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business or related field is preferred
- Solid problem-solving skills, both in data analysis and interpretation
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Strong computer skills, including competency in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
- Self-motivated, conceptual thinker with the ability to work with minimal direction
- 1-3 years’ experience preferred
- Limited travel
Position Scope/Contribution:
This position will be based in the corporate office and work closely with the sales and supply chain teams. Incumbent must be highly motivated and assertive with the ability to take initiative to communicate day-to-day operational issues to supply chain and product management.
